How the Right Wing are Responsible for Rise in Asian Hate Crimes

  We’ve all felt overwhelmed and frustrated during COVID-19. It’s like, why is this happening to me? The world is ending! With that being said, I’m sure we’re not going around blaming an entire group of people for a global pandemic. That much can’t be said for our right wing politicians. From former President Donald Trump to many faceless republicans in the senate, the anti-Asian rhetoric and neglect is a driving force in the rise of violence against Asians in America. If we all can remember last April when the pandemic was just beginning, Donald Trump’s description of the virus was “Chinese Virus”, “Wuhan virus”, and “Kung Flu” over COVID-19 or corona virus.  This is incredibly damaging to Asian Americans since it’s putting a target on them.      Our country has been through a lot, in this past few months. It's citizens have been through, arguably, even more. There has been a strain on our government for a long time; this pandemic only seemed to break the straw on the camel's back. Moreover, the turn to violence and blame has become more prevalent in our communities and, dangerously enough, our government.
